Differences in Season 1 Episode 11:Blood Calls to Blood
This whole Michael Wayland is Jace's father has gone too far. Now not only are they perpetuating the lie, which is ok because everyone thinks it, but now they have a man who looks like Michael? No, Jace always thought Michael Wayland was his father because he never knew what Valentine looked like.
We see both Clary and Michael trying to activate Jace's Iratze rune to help him heal but it doesn't work, even though it's still there. In the books when a rune doesn't work they are supposed to sink into the skin and disappear, not stay where they are but just not work. Besides how would you know.
I'm just wondering why does Izzy have more than one Angelic Rune? Aren't they only supposed to have the one of those?
I've noticed that Simon keeps referring to the van he drives as his van. But in the books it's not actually his van. The van belongs to Eric, Simon's band mate, he is just always borrowing the van. I do miss the fact that Simon's band mates aren't in the show.
When Clary, Simon, and Luke are talking about getting blood for Jace to help cure the demon venom they say that Vampires having human blood is against the Accords. So, I thought human blood was only against the Accords if the Vampires were going around killing the humans.
Raphael says that Camille got bored of her subjugates and that's why she doesn't have them anymore. That is not true. In fact Camille, in the books, still has Archer and Walker with her when we meet her in City of Fallen Angels. She has had Archer and Walker with her since we first meet her in The Infernal Devices novels which are set in the 1800's. And Camille is absolutely devastated when these two are killed by the Shadowhunters in City of Fallen Angels.
Let's talk a little about Inquisitor Imogen Herondale. In this episode when she makes her appearance she questions whether Lydia is making a good choice in her pending marriage to Alec Lightwood. If you've read the books then you know that the Inquisitor doesn't have an issue with the Lightwoods, only the Morgensterns because of Valentine's involvement with the death of her only child Stephen Herondale.
Also, TV show, if you're going to bring in a character like Inquisitor Herondale you might as well bring her in for the proper reason. Like to get her vengeance on Jace because she thinks that he is Valentine's son. Not for some stupid trial that should not even be happening. And she doesn't even come back when we find out that Jace is supposedly a Morgenstern. Because she totally redeems herself when she sacrifices her life for Jace after realizing who's son Jace really is.
Valentine ends up leaving Chernobyl to go to Renwick's in New York. This is were Valentine was supposed to be from the very beginning. Besides it used to be owned by the old Shadowhunter family the Blackwell's, and Luke even refers to it is Blackwell's island and Clary has to correct him in the name.
Magnus is Izzy's lawyer at her trail. This is not only a bit ridiculous but a little too convenient to get Magnus in the episode. I'm just saying that sometimes convenience is always the best way to go.
The first time Clary and Luke go to Renwick's it is with the Werewolf pack, and they are going to rescue Jace from Valentine, and take back the Cup from Valentine. Yet, in the show not a single one of these is going. The packs not there, Jace is back at the Jade Wolf, and Clary has the Cup.
The Mortal Sword only works on Shadowhunters, and not on Downworlders. Yet, Magnus makes the comment of whether the Sword will kill him or not, and a Silent Brother says only if he tells the truth. But the Sword does nothing against Downworlders, unless I guess they are stabbed with it.
I find the whole trail to be rather annoying. But if there really was a trail I feel like it would be held back in Alicante in the Accords Hall with the Shadowhunter Council observing. Not at an Institute with only the Inquisitor presiding.
The green barrier that we see around Jocelyn at times keeps anything, everything, out but other times it doesn't. In a previous episode we see Valentine trying to touch Jocelyn but the barrier stops him from reaching her. Yet, in this episode we see both Clary and Luke reaching through the barrier to touch Jocelyn's face. It's just a little inconsistent for me.
UHH, this whole tension between Jace and Alec is still going on, and driving me crazy. Jace and Clary get back to the Institute and give Lydia the Cup saving Isabelle, and all Alec does is getting mad at Jace for not being there from the beginning. Apparently, in the show this version of Alec expects Jace to be a mind reader and know exactly what is going on at any given moment. There is no way Jace could have known what was going to happen to Izzy, and if he did Alec should know that Jace would be back in a heartbeat to help her. Besides, Alec would never emphasis MY sister as if Jace weren't their brother.
In the books Jocelyn, after being found still in a magical coma, is taken to a mundane hospital to be looked over by the Warlock Catarina Loss, and not taken to the Institute to float around the training room.
